Oak Ridge Detector Laboratory (ORDELA, Inc.)

TheĀ Oak Ridge Detector Laboratory (ORDELA, Inc.) is a privately owned corporation in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. ORDELA, Inc. was formed in 1984 to provide specialized products, services, and systems for the scientific and industrial research community. ORDELA, Inc. produces a line of position-sensitive proportional counter systems for the detection of x-rays, neutrons, and charged particles, and provides custom-made radiation detection instruments. Key staff members are Manfred K. Kopp, President and Daniel M. Kopp, Technical Director.

Daniel M. Kopp is a development engineer with over 10 years of experience in the design of radiation measurement instrumentation. Mr. Kopp is the Technical Director of ORDELA, Inc. and is responsible for the design and development of all electronic products. Prior to his work at ORDELA, Inc., he was employed as a design engineer with Technology for Energy Corporation (TEC) for a period of nine years. While at TEC, Mr. Kopp was extensively involved in the development and installation of commercial radiation monitoring systems, reactor coolant-level monitoring systems, and fossil plant monitoring instrumentation. He has vast experience in the development, testing, calibration, and qualification of instrumentation for use in the nuclear industry. Mr. Kopp has authored several publications in the field of radiation detection instrumentation.
